For the past few years I have wanted to hike Timpanogos. I hiked it when I was in High School with my family but it had been awhile. So this morning when I woke up, I said this is the day. I woke up at 9:30 and was out the door by 10:00. After making a few stops I arrived at the trail head in American Fork Canyon. It was an absolutely beautiful day, around 95 degrees and sunny. Since I was going to be hiking by myself I decided to see just how fast I could do it. So I started up the trail. For anyone who has hiked Timpanogos before, it is beautiful and I was amazed at how green it was. I figured everything would be dried up but the many waterfalls were still flowing and the fields were as green and full of flowers as usual. After just three hours I climbed up to the saddle and decided to go on up to the tower, another half an hour hike. By this point I was completely run out of water and felt a little like Sam and Frodo climbing Mt Doom. I decided to hike back down and make the detour to the glacier lake and refill my canteen. As you can see in my picture their is still a little snow, but most is gone. After refilling my canteen I ran the 7 miles back to the car, in all the trip took me six hours to complete.

Wow! Good work on the hike. How did I miss that hike with the family? I've never hiked Timp, just to the cave.
